On August 17th, the U.S. Supreme Court ordered that Troy Davis, a death row prisoner from Georgia, should receive a new hearing to determine whether new evidence that was not available at his trial could prove him innocent.
We are heartened by the Court's decision to grant Troy this new hearing and know that it could not have happened if thousands of our supporters had not written letters, made phones calls, brought much-needed media attention to the flaws in this case, and taken a personal interest in ensuring that Troy Davis receives justice.
